Dr. Shalini Dhyani works tirelessly for rural women. She cares a lot for the welfare of women in rural areas. Instead of using her education to uplift her own life, she selflessly gave herself to others through her research despite having very limited funding and little-to-no scientific data on her site. She is working on reducing the drudgery of hill women and community by developing fodder bank models. Since she conducts a lot of field work, she subjects herself daily to a lot of tough conditions in the forested areas of the Indian Himalayas. Her exposure to the communities in these forests made a more selfless turn for her work. She is currently involved in coming up with ways of uplifting the communities, especially of rural women, by educating them in using sustainable local resources and building their capacity and skills to sustain these initiatives.
