Prijma Singh Tharu is the President of Tharu Women Upliftment Center (TWUC), Bardiya. Through TWUC, she advocates for women's and children's rights by organising, training and publishing materials concerning women and children.

She envisions a society where there is gender equality that is why she is committed to assist in improving the lives of women, children, former bonded laborers (Mukta Kamaiya), and other marginalised communities. She does this by advocating and educating them regarding their health, education, livelihood, and through capacity building.
