Chandra Maya Shrestha has contributed her life for the upliftment of the rural communities especially of women and has continuously been an example of the outstanding effort in enhancing creativity and skills, empowerment, and decision-making capacity, in rural women. She has also been advocating for rural women's rights to education, food, health, land and other related issues. A licensed holder Advocate from Nepal Bar Council, she is the President of the Human Rights Protection Women's Association in Jhapa. She has participated in various trainings and workshops on legal trainings, women rights and domestic violence. She is active in involving women to act on various issues like violence against women and domestic violence.
