Chanchiben Bachubhai Thakore is a very dynamic and charismatic leader in her village. Even though she has never learnt social work in the classroom, she is the best example of grassroots social worker. Her understanding of issues, especially on women's rights, and her passion is clearly seen on how she does community work. As Maldhari Rural Action Group (MARAG) puts it, "Chanchiben is very courageous and has a positive outlook towards social change."

From being a woman destined to be in the confines of her room and the kitchen, she has empowered herself and has shown her community and the world what women can do.
